Hedge funds are known for always trying to get an edge over the market. One of their latest strategies is using satellites to track retailers’ parking lots and know when they’re gonna have a bad quarter before anyone else. UC Berkeley Professor Panos Patatoukas asked one of the main satellite image providers, RS Metrics, for their data to understand how much of an advantage this information could give you.
