The global reusable water bottle market is booming. One study estimated that it will be valued at $11.5B by 2030, and other researchers have predicted similar growth as well. But that doesn’t mean people are ditching single-use plastic — in fact, despite the popularity of reusable water bottles made from materials like stainless steel, global plastic use (and especially plastic used to make disposable water bottles) is expected to rise by 4% by 2030. So if people still buy plastic bottles, why are we so obsessed with reusable ones?
