Whether you’re Roger Federer or Serena Williams, every US Open tennis champion since 1978 has won their matches at Arthur Ashe Stadium playing on the same type of surface. Until 2020. That's when the US Open stripped down and replaced center court. After 42 years, the USTA chose Laykold to provide the new surface of the US Open tennis. In August 2024, Laykold partnered with RecycleBalls – a company that recycles tennis balls across the US – to build new public courts out of recycled balls.
